The 10 days Integrated Project (Fieldwork) is the synthesis of all knowledge acquired in previous modules. It enables students to analys "Real-life" Geomatics Engineering tasks and to solve those tasks and problems with an engineering approaching an autonomous way.
Through carefully designed project planning, students will simultaneously develop project management and team work skills. The fieldwork is realized at variable places in the vicinity of Stuttgart – typically on the Swabian Alb, nearby Reutlingen. The project takes place at the end of the lecture period of Second semester and is completed at the beginning of the Third semester.

The 4th semester (summer term) is exclusively reserved for the Master Thesis.
With the Master Thesis the students are to demonstrate their ability to complete and document a well defined research project within a given time frame.
The Master Thesis has to be prepared in English language. It can only be started after having successfully passed at least 60 credit points (ECTS) of mandatory and elective modules including the corresponding examinations of the first three semesters.
The Master Thesis has to be finished after six months. In exceptional cases, the time can be extended up to nine months.
The start of the Master Thesis has to be documented by the Examination Office of the University of Stuttgart.
